Hi any tips on video compression for mp4 (reducing the size) and do need a version in Ogg Video, WebM, youtube or are these just other options?
Great question. If you want to host the video yourself, you’ll need to have a OGG, MP4 and WebM version of the video. That way it’ll be accessible across browsers since there isn’t a standard format unfortunately. To make the different formats, I often use this online converter (http://www.online-convert.com).
If you go with YouTube, then you don’t need to create the various formats as YouTube will handle all of that for you.
Optimizing the file size of videos is something I have limited experience with myself. I think in this instance you could get better direction from a Google search.
If I can help out, let me know,
Bill
