I would like to customize various sidebars, text widgets for my pages. Each page will contain data related to page text….can I do this using the same default page template?

    Thank you,
    Judy

    Hello Judy,

That’s a great way to keep all of the pages on your site relevant. The best way to go about that is with a plugin like Content Aware Sidebars.

This plugin allows you to create new sidebars and then define where they appear on your site. You can make them visible only on the About page or your blog or in this category or that one. It’s a powerful way to manage your sidebars that’s pretty straightforward too.

The only thing that can be tricky is making sure you have it set to replace the correct sidebar. If you find your new sidebar is not showing up, make sure it’s set to replace a sidebar that’s visible on the page you’re using. I sometimes place a text widget with the name of the sidebar in each sidebar so that I’m sure which one I’m viewing while getting things set up.

If you have any questions or trouble, let me know.

    Thanks,
    Bill
