Hi Bill,
I’m slowly getting there with your theme.
I’m having trouble trying to get the logo to look any good. I’ve tried using Jpeg and PNG files but both look pretty shit to be honest. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong. Every logo i’ve uploaded pixelates for some bizarre reason, especially when the screen is expanded.
I have a feeling i’m missing something along the way …If you can put me on the right path i’d love to hear what i’m doing wrong.
The logo is 300 x 200 pixels
Thanks,
Christian
Hello Christian,
I compared what the logo looks like in a browser window (Chrome) vs the logo opened in Preview on my Mac (see attached screenshot). To me the logo the same in both spots–in and out of the browser.
The word Mediterranean is quite thin weight wise and small. That’s a tough spot because it works design wise, but at this size it’s not the easiest to read.
Is that similar to what you’re seeing? If it’s not does the logo look different in a browser than it does at the same size in an image editor?
Bill
Thanks for taking a look. I think I’ve figured it. I think the original file needs to be saved out of illustrator or whatever the designer designed it in at 300 x 200 as when I resize it messes up slightly.
Have you noticed this before when resizing logos that designer have sent you?
Christian.
It’s not something that I’ve run into myself very often. I have seen some graphics that looked like they didn’t quite resize well, and ones that just weren’t made for the small size that they were using.
Okay, thanks for the insight. I’ll get the designer to send over exact sized files. Do you recommend jpeg or .PNG for upload?
Christian.
One advantage of getting the designer to change the size is they can make adjustments to the logo if it needs any at a smaller size. I would use a PNG for a logo.
I was thinking PNG, but thanks for confirming 🙂
Cheers,
Christian.
