    Hey there!

I’d like to have a few of the menu links open in a new window/tab. We are linking to a different site for my client so we don’t want the visitor taken away from the site they are currently on.

Is there a way to do this for only certain menu links?

    Thanks so much!!

    Erin,

Great question. You can have the menu links open up in a new tab/window, but WordPress doesn’t make it very obvious for how to find them. Here’s what to do.

    1) In the menu section, click the tab in the top right that says “Screen Options.”
    2) A slide down box will open. In the bottom left there is a checkbox next to an option that says “Link Target.” Check that box and close the screen options.
    3) Now when you click the down arrow by one of your menu items, there will be a checkbox under the navigation label that lets you open that link in a new tab/window.

If you run into any trouble, just let me know.

    Thanks for your business,
    Bill
