    Hello Bill,

    Thank you very much for the very unique and nice theme. I am building a restaurant page, and while I am working questions come up. Would you prefer me to open one subject for every question or to place it in one?

    1. Do you recommend qtranslate or wpml plugin for multilingual website?

    2. Taking into consideration that the restaurant menu for which is page has groups and subgroups and large number of items, is there a simple way to add menu groups as simple tabs on top of the menu page which will be very nice to present main groups under which will be shown subgroups with menu items? I would like to achieve similar like here http://mfkrestaurant.com/menu/
    As i realized they embedded this menu from some other service from godaddy where they made it.

    Good example of what I would like to achieve is this too:http://demo.myfoodpress.com/top-tab-menu/

    I have even tried several menu plugins (also spent some money on them like on this one: http://demo.myfoodpress.com/top-tab-menu/), but problem with all those plugins including this one above is that menu has background color, it is not transparent background like in umami default menu.

    This is the example: http://www.saltandpepper.hr/meni-proba/ Is there easy way to make it transparent maybe?

    Sorry for maybe not so great explanation, but english is not my main language, and this is one of my very first websites so my skills are basic.

    Thank you in advance for your reply.

    Good Morning Goran,

    Thank you for your business first of all. Let’s find answers for your questions.

    qTranslate or WPML — You can use either. To be fair I have not run a multi-lingual site, but I’ve had more customers who have had greater success with WPML. It’s what I typically recommend.

    Menu Tabs — One way that you could go about creating a lengthly menu would be to add a list of links at the top of the page to the various sections of your menu. Here’s how to do that:

    1. Edit your menu page.
    2. In the main content area you can enter text that will appear above your list of menu groups. In the content area there, type in the names of the spots in your menu where you’d like to direct people. Your main menu groups.
    3. Once you’ve done that, highlight the first one with your cursor and click the link icon that’s in the toolbar at the top the content box.
    4. For the link you’ll want to enter this:

      #menu-group-19

      in the URL field. The 19 is the ID number of the menu group you’d like to link to. To find that, go to Food in your dashboard and choose menu groups. Click on the one you’d like to use first and then look in the navigation bar of your browser. It should look something like this:

      http://demo.organizedthemes.com/umami/wp-admin/edit-tags.php?action=edit&taxonomy=menu-group&tag_ID=19&post_type=food

      You can see the ID=19 in the URL there. That’s where you find the ID’s to use in your links.

    5. Add the links for each menu group individually to the list you created and then update your page.

    That should give you links at the top of your page that will direct your visitors to the appropriate part of your menu for you.

    You can make the menu background transparent in the plugin too. Here’s how:

    1. Go to your theme options page and choose the Advanced tab.
    2. Scroll down to the Custom CSS box and add this:

      #content .foodpress_menu {
      	background: transparent;
      }

    3. Update your settings.

    If you have any questions or trouble let me know. It typically works best to have one main question per forum topic. That way items are less likely to be missed.

    Have a great week and thanks again,
    Bill

    Hello Bill,

    Many, many thanks for your reply. Will go with WPML I think, as I realized support is great there if I come up to an issue implementing the plugin.

    Regarding the menu, I managed to make background transparent with yours and menu plugin developers help. I will compare plugin option and what you have recommended in previous post and according to that decide what to keep on the page. I must mention that I have learned something new from your proposed option, so I am sure that I will have a chance to use it in near future again.

    I am going to open new subject for new questions, not related to the previous ones.

    Once again thank you, and have a nice day.

    Goran.
