Hi, I am using the Grassroots theme; how do i build out the home page to look like the one advertised

Hello Omar,

Thank you for your business first of all. Great question. What you’ll want to do is edit your home page. Look in the right hand column and you’ll see a drop-down menu labeled templates. Choose Home Page from that drop-down and update your page. That will set the correct template for the home page.

Next go to the Appearance section in your WordPress dashboard and choose Widgets. The home page in the theme is made up of ten widget areas that you can use to add content to your home page.

Here is what is used where in the demo:

Home One — Campaign Widget
Home Two — Attention Widget
Home Three — Two Home Box widgets
Home Four — Campaign Widget
Home Five — Home Block Page Content widget
Home Six — Sponsor Widget

I made the home page with widgets to give users the maximum flexibility possible in terms of what content to place there and where it should go.

You can also style each home page section differently if you need/want to. To do that, go to the Appearance section in your dashboard and choose Customize. Click on Home Page Styles near the bottom of the list. That will bring up a list of the home page sections so you can style them there.
