I’m loving this theme, but we set up a Strategy page that goes into some detail on what my non-profit does, but the footer overlaps with that content as soon as the sidebar content ends.

I need an edit that can be made to the footer.php file that will resolve this as soon as possible. This makes my site look amateurish.

    Thanks!

The footer on my website shows up at soon as the sidebar ends, making it overlap with content if it’s longer than the sidebar: http://equalrightsinstitute.com/about/strategy/

I’m using the original footer.php that came with the theme. I need an edit that will fix this ASAP, because it makes my website look amateurish. Thanks!

    Hello Josh,

Thank you for your business first of all. I took a look at your page and believe I’ve tracked down the trouble. It appears that someone has added a Google authorship link at the top of the header. This is the line that’s appearing there that should be removed:

    <a href="https://plus.google.com/111871804902135080029" rel="publisher"></a>

That type of link is what you would use in the content area of a site, as opposed to the header area. You can add in that information via a meta tag that will let Google know about who is publishing while not affecting things adversely.

Personally I use and recommend the WordPress SEO by Yoast plugin. It does a great job with letting you craft your search engine results, but it also adds in publishing information for Twitter, Facebook and Google too.

If you have any trouble, let me know.

    Thanks,
    Bill

Thank you! That fixed it. I’m still trying to figure out how to tell Google about my page. Definitely a novice at this. I’ll try with the Yoast plugin. Thanks!
