Hi Bill,
When we try to share our website on Facebook, for some odd reason, Facebook uses an old image that was deleted some time ago as the image to share with the website info/content.
Is there a way to choose which image from our website is used when sharing on different social media platforms?
Thanks!
Hey Joshua,
I bet Facebook is pulling in a cached image because it’s not seeing an image that it can use. Facebook looks for a tag in the head section of the page to specify an image. If it doesn’t see one, then it moves on to try and find an image in the content of the page. Most of the images on your front page are background images so Facebook won’t look at those.
I would use the WordPress SEO by Yoast plugin. It does a great job with titles and descriptions for your pages, but it also adds in the correct tags for Facebook and Twitter to your site. You can specify a default Facebook image for pages that don’t have one.
Take care,
Bill
