Hello Bill,

the first block of my home-page shows my latest blog-entry: http://www.franzikreis.com
Now I wonder if I can also display a navigation, so that it is possible to switch to older blog posts inside this first home-block?
(If I view the blog seperately, I can switch to older posts with the navigation: http://www.franzikreis.com/blog/)

It would be perfect to display an arrow and the word “previous” in the right corner of my post on the homeblock.

Thank’s in advance,
Franzi

Hi Franzi,

Good question. One way you could do that would be to add in a text widget to that home block and then place a link to your blog there. In the text widget, use this code for the link:

Previous ›

(Make sure to grab that snippet directly from the support site and not the notification email.)

That would be the easiest way to add in a link to the full blog beflow your posts.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Have a great weekend,
Bill

Hello Bill,

thank’s for your answer!

The previous-link works pretty well, only problem: in the end I don’t want a link to the whole blog, but only to the previous post which should appear INSIDE the homeblock in order to allow my site-visitors to skip through all my blog-posts without leaving my home-block-page.
It would also make sense to display the posting-date like it is shown on the real blog-page.

Is there a possibility to do this?

Thank you very much in advance!
Best,
Franzi

Hi Franzi,

There may be a plugin that does something like that. If you want people to be able to view additional posts on the front page by clicking a previous button, you’ll probably need some type of slider to do that. Unfortunately I don’t a recommendation for a plugin to handle that for you. There may be a great one, but I don’t know what it is to point you to it.

Sorry,
Bill

Hi Bill,

thank you for your quick answer and no worries!
I will keep you updated if I manage to find a Blog-Post-Slider-Plugin that solves the problem.
Maybe I also just leave your “Previous”-Link as this also works pretty well (and it might be anyway nicer to view longer blog posts on a seperated site).

Enjoy your weekend!
Franzi.
