Weather Alerts and Cancellations

I am trying to figure out an easy way to post cancellations due to weather on our website (one of the joys of living in western Michigan). It seems to me that a widget is the best way to do this, using one to post a simple image/text in one of the home sections. What I was wondering is if there is a way to put a narrow widget above the Hero Section on the home page? This might be in the too hard/not possible category. My thought was that on mobile devices and many computers, all that is visible whan you first open the page is the Hero Section, so I was looking for something that would go over the top of the Hero section. I could do it by putting a new featured image on the home page, but I was looking for something that did not change that. Thanks in advance.
Hi Carl,
Excellent question. You might try the DW Promobar plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/dw-promobar/). It adds a quick notification bar that runs across the top of the screen, just above the content of the site. I haven’t tested it out with Kerygma, but I’ve used it elsewhere and have been pleased with it. It sounds like it could be a good solution for your weather notification situation.
Let me know if I can help,
Bill
Awesome! That works. You rock Biil!
Glad to hear that works Carl 🙂
