Creating Content Rich Sub-Pages with Widgets

Hi Bill –
We would like to create a Community Resource site where we can have pages dedicated to a topic like “Homelessness” or “Interfaith”. We’d like those to be content rich pages that don’t necessarily have same look and feel as the main site.
Is it possible to create stand alone pages that have widgets (rolling up recent posts based on Categories or Tags) and maybe a list of “Of-Interest” links or documentation libraries.
It seems like the only place to use widgets is on the home page. I’m also trying to figure out how to use the Custom Fields area at the bottom of the Page Dev. area. Below is prior topic I raised about this initiative.

Any insight would appreciated, as always!
Best,
Peter
Hi Peter,
Good question there. You might consider using a plugin called Page Builder (https://wordpress.org/plugins/siteorigin-panels/). It lets you replace the default content area on a page with one that’s made up of rows and columns that are filled with widgets. You could use it to set up pages using widgets for content outside of the home page template. A few of our themes are built to use this particular plugin, but I haven’t tested it out with Forward. I do think it would work though.
Let me know if I can help,
Bill
