ParticipantWorked like a charm for the first site. I tried a square and it was too big, so I tried a 275×50 rectangle with same background color and that looks great.
On the second one, the code shrunk the logo to itty-bitty. So I tried doing the same thing as the first and I still get the extra gap of background color. I’ll live with with the gap until I change the main page logo.
Thanks for the help.
You have an even better week.

ParticipantI double checked that I set it up right from the support link, but it shrunk and merged them on the desktop (perhaps because there’s a caption). I basically wanted them side-by-side (multiple rows when necessary) on the desktop at the current size and then on the mobile they’d stack vertically and could be scrolled through. I tried a div with padding and that made things look wonky on mobile.

ParticipantWorked perfectly. I found all kinds of complicated code to handle this and was hoping you’d have a simple solution. You did! Thanks a bunch.
One more thing…
Before responsive, we used grid and then div code to align images horizontally. On mobile, they aligned oddly so now they’re just stacked on the desktop.Here’s a link to show what I mean: http://lotzremodeling.com/commercial-office-remodeling/
Is there any code that will let me put images across for the desktop and then neatly stack on mobile?

ParticipantThat fixed the interior pages just the way I wanted.
The bleed is fine on the home page. I’m thinking it’s not the design but the larger image size they insisted upon.
Your designs make it easy to look good. You allow for so much content “above the fold” yet there’s no confusion on where to look. The design not only allows for sites within the same industry to look unique, they can also be adapted for so many different types of businesses.

That did the trick.

ParticipantThanks! It’s turning out just as I pictured it.

ParticipantThanks for the link.
I’ll play with that after I finish the rest of the updates.
Thanks again for all your help.

ParticipantThat did it! Thanks!
Another question…
You shared this code to put a menu above the slideshow.
Is there a way to locate the menu below the slideshow or above the footer?
#header {
height: auto;
}#logo,
#text-logo {
position: relative;
top: auto;
left: auto;
text-align: center;
width: 100%;
height: 99px;
}#logo img,
#text-logo img {
max-height: 100%;
}#navigation {
float: none;
display: inline;
width: 100%;
margin-top: 10px;
}#navigation ul {
float: none;
text-align: left;
}#navigation .menu li {
display: inline-block;
margin-left: 30px;
float: none;
}Rebecca Morency
ParticipantThanks for the codes. The post content is still showing up in the hover over.
http://co-more.com/mf/The only other change I’d made was on the home page with text below the feature boxes using
<div id=”intro”> Text </div>
Since your new version lets you put text on the home page between the slideshow and feature boxes, I just changed this. This change had no effect on the feature boxes.I deactivated and reinstalled plugins.
Any thoughts on what to do?Rebecca Morency
ParticipantThanks, Bill.
That worked perfectly. The home page is now a clickable portfolio page as envisioned.
Enjoy the weekend with the family.

ParticipantMy you’ve been busy with coding updates!
Your changes are making it easier and easier to use.
The code to align the custom social media icon worked great.
Love that you can get the links to open in a new window with just a click on the Theme Options/Social Media menu.
Your prior code for the image grid still works great; just had to adjust the margin now that the content is wider.
One more quick question: Since the social media is actually a font, does the Google Fonts option have to be enabled on the Styling page?
Thanks for the fantastic support

ParticipantHere’s where I’m working on the updates:
You can compare to the original site (on Foxy 1.2.8) that’s still live here:
Thanks, Bill
P.S. What would be the code to change the header bar color if they want the off-white of the original? Will the dark icons you provided from the early Foxy still work?
Rebecca Morency
ParticipantThat fixed it. I thought since the slideshow was working I didn’t need it for this style. Thanks, Bill.

ParticipantThanks so much, Bill.
I wouldn’t have figured out that code. Elegant way to deal with IE.
I added a border and changed out colors to get just the look I wanted.Thanks for making the update so the theme can be easily updated within WordPress and adding the Google Fonts inside.
Love this theme and Bottega. Great above the fold designs that let businesses show and tell their story. Again, thanks for the designs and fantastic support.

ParticipantWorked perfectly for both.
I tried on my own first but didn’t have “background-” before color for the boxcaption and added too much html to the custom link.
I added a subject line to email so I’ll know if that one is used by visitors.
Here’s a couple thoughts whenever you do an update:
1. For feature row image size, on Appearance/Theme Options/Home Page add 178×178 size after “Choose the source…”
2. For slide show size, on Media/Slide/Add Slide add 960w x 350h size after “Works with an image slide…”
3. On the Theme Options page, add an additional “Save Options” at the top of the page for each tab. Can you tell I’ve forgotten to scroll to the bottom to save a few times?Again, thanks for your help.

ParticipantI thought the load time savings would be neglible.
I was able to go from 71% to 94% according to gtmetrix.com and to faster than 91% on pingdom.
Thanks again for your help.

ParticipantThanks, Bill.
That fixed it. I saw those and didn’t want to choose the wrong one. So on each page or post, you have the following options:
“Standard” is the home page slideshow.
“Image” lets you use the featured image.
“Gallery” lets you add a separate slideshow in a post or page.I improved speed with W3 Total Cache and WP Smush.it. I’ll test WP Super Cache and see which works best with my server.
One of the suggestions for speed improvement was to CSS Sprite the social media icons at the top. Your thoughts?
Thanks,
Becky

ParticipantHi Bill,
Got that to work. Thanks!
I updated on a test site so I could compare the update to the original site. Here’s the updates I had to make.
– All of the Theme Options went to default. I had to reload the logo, favicon, and slideshow images from the media library and copy the social media links.
– I copied and pasted from the original site CSS changes (Appearance/Theme Options/Style) to the updated one.
– The menu had to be selected again.
– Upload dark social image icons since I changed from a dark background to a light background.Becky

ParticipantThanks, Bill!
Worked perfectly!
Thanks for the +/- explanation of positioning. This was a -5px.
Have a great week!

ParticipantThank you, Jeff. They wanted an interactive counter, one that visitors click instead of one that shows the number of hits, and I was able to get that code installed thanks to a plugin Bill suggested. Unfortunately, it doesn’t store the clicks and the counter zeros out when the visitor leaves. I didn’t know how to set it up to store the clicks, so they set up a facebook page for now.

ParticipantWIdgets are a perfect solution.
I’d love an audio widget too. I was able to add audio with a plugin and pasting a link in a text widget, but I got spoiled with your video widget.
Just got a message from the fundraising group. Sarah’s in emergency surgery and the parents hadn’t seen the videos or heard the audios and it’s helping them as they sit in the waiting room .
Thanks for providing this method that helps them see and hear their girl.
