I’ll try that. Thank you, sir. Yes, several times before when I’ve seen a cascade type of failure like that it’s because the plugin doesn’t get along with the theme. Nerts.
On an unrelated note, can I delete the other themes that keep popping up whenever I update WordPress . . . Twenty Thirteen, Twenty Fourteen and Twenty Fifteen?

Thanks, Bill! I did that and have the HTML for the list formatted the way I want it to be but I don’t know where to add it in the food item (Drinks/Wine) that I need to update. The individual food items don’t have a text/HTML option.
Also, when I activated that plugin it replaced the descriptions of all of my Food items (not just Drinks) with three dashes. On a hunch I deactivated it and all of the descriptions thankfully reappeared. I checked the plugin FAQ and changelog and there’s nothing in either to indicate what I messed up. 😉

Thank you, sir! That worked like a charm! All the best for a fantastic 2016 and I hope to talk to you again soon.

Thank you. I’ll check those and if they’re free or not too expensive, I’ll give them a shot.

Thanks. I did that and published (and need to remember how to add a page to the Nav menu) but the style attributes, specifically the text at the top and also the field labels, are too dark and illegible against the default dark fly-out transparency of the Umami design.

    http://lagrangehouston.com/like-to-work-at-la-grange/

I assume I’ll need to change those attributes on the Wufoo side of the form design or can I do so in WordPress?

Also, do you have any idea whether if I convert those forms to be embedded instead of opening in the much uglier Wufoo version (https://freddymail.wufoo.com/forms/work-at-cottonwood-liberty-station-or-la-grange/) will have any impact on the mobile version?

By the way, please feel free to let me know if I’ve exceeded the limits of your patience with all my questions. This is the first time for me to be using a template and it doesn’t help that I’m not exactly code-fluent.

    Thanks, Bill.

Thanks! Sorry, I’m just now getting back to this. I did install the Wufoo Shortcode plugin but as of now I have those two forms (“work here” and “have a party here”) set up as Menus in the Appearance tab so that I could make them Navigation Menu items. I’m guessing that in order for the shortcode links to work that I’d need to create actual pages for those two forms?

Thanks! I’ll try the Analyticator. Have a nice evening.

Either I’m a plug moron or you’re the most helpful person on the planet (I’ll bet it’s both) but within 90 seconds of reading this just now, both problems were fixed. Thank you so much! Based on the analytics from the previous Duda version of the mobile site, we get about 10 phone calls a day so repairing that was critical. Speaking of which, now I need to figure out if there’s an analytics option or if I need go stick some evil Google Analytics code in there.

Thanks again, Bill. Hopefully I won’t be bugging you until the next time I buy an OT template, which will probably be mid next week. Ha.

Same template but different topic, so feel free to ask me to start another ticket. I just talked another client into an OT template and they also want to use Umami. She is, however, adamant about being able to use the typeface Papyrus for their food menus. See .pdf below. Is it possible to import a typeface for use on a template? Thank you, sir.

Thanks. No luck. I deactivated all of the other ones except for Category Order and Taxonomy Terms Order and also Simple Page ordering, because I need to keep those activated, and then re-activated Advanced Excerpt and the disappearing descriptions issue returned. I’ll just keep it the way it is for now. The client didn’t request the change; I was just trying to spruce it up a bit before I post it. Thanks again for trying, though!

It is odd, though, and makes me wonder why that plug-in jacked all the descriptions. Ahhh well, the mysteries of the internet for those of us who have no idea what we’re doing. 😉

Not a problem. Including the spaces and indentations isn’t necessary, just something that would have made it a little easier to read. Thanks for your help. I appreciate it.

Trouble I did indeed run into. I installed it and went to start editing but checked that food menu again to see if anything I’d already done had stuck yet. Unfortunately what I discovered is that installing Advanced Excerpts cancelled display of the descriptions of all of my items in each menu group, although the original material is still in place on the editing side. If I uninstall that plug-in, will my descriptions go back to normal? Thanks, Bill.

I will indeed. You have been a productive pleasure to work with. Thanks for saving my bacon. (Apologies for the restaurant analogy.) Have a great week!

    BINGO!!! THANK YOU, BILL!

I’d mistakenly created those LINKS as pages in Appearance / Menus so I went back and deleted those links and then FINALLY figured out that I had to go to Menu Groups in that same section and View All and add the deleted ones back in.

Wow. It’s a good thing I dropped out of pre-med when I was a freshman. Thank you so much. I think we’re all done and now all I have to do is go add the rest of the menu items. Well, and then make four more of these sites for all the other places, which hopefully won’t take quite as long next time.

Thank you. I really appreciate it.

Thank you. I deleted all the pages and also realized I’d originally stupidly created redundant menu groups in the Food menus area, which goes back to your point about how goofy it is that they call navigation in the Appearance section ‘Menus,’ so I deleted those. Now I just need to figure out how to get the links in the navigation bar go to the only current (tester) food menu I have. When I click on it now, instead of a blank page I get a Not Found page.

I literally accidentally got it right a few minutes ago and when I went back to change the target from Page (or Custom Link) to Menu Group, the option wasn’t there anymore. It’s like there’s one single box I’m not checking in order for the four menu links in the navigation bar to go their correct targets because when I ‘View’ the menus in the Menu Groups, they display perfectly.

Thank you and I’m sorry I’m being so thick.

I’d rather use the Appearance / Menus option because they like the food menu formatting options.

I’ve created the different menus, added them to the navigation menu and then added half a dozen food items and toggled them to attribute to the Chiquito / Appetizers menu . . . but when I save and test that on the live version, when I click on the Chiquito / Appetizers link in the navigation bar, it just goes to a blank page that shows just the sidebar and the background images.

I feel like I’m just one egg short of a full dozen on this in order to get it to work. I’m really sorry to keep bugging you.

Thanks! Where do I put the slug for each menu? I tried to find it on the Appearance / Menus / Edit Menus page and could not.

And I appreciate the sidebar footer tip.

Thanks, Bill! I’ll try that. I might have two more questions about adding a tag line under the logo in the sidebar and also including separate navigation bar links for different food groups (Appetizers, Entrees, Desserts, Drinks).

Worked like a charm. THANK YOU. Now all I have to figure out is how to get the nav bar links to go to their respective pages, insert a little vertical space under the logo and add the Facebook and Twitter icons. 🙂

And then I need to buy and build eight more of these. It’s going to be quite a weekend . . .

Thank you, sir. I appreciate your help very much.

Thanks, Bill! I’ll watch the video now. I deleted the sole post on the home page, refreshed the preview tab and it reverted from ‘Home’ to “Start Adding Content (headline) / It looks like the site needs some content. Get started here. (link).” Was that not the right place to delete the content?

    Thank you, sir.
