Well I think I figured out why the images weren’t loading… I had the slide duration set to 43500 instead of 4500 so that must have been the issue.

I feel like my backend of wordpress runs really slow and my actual site is definitely not the speediest. I just disabled my calendar widget and it did speed up the page a bit but of course I would have rather not disabled it. Maybe All-In-One Event Calendar is a problematic plugin.

Should I consider a VPS to speed up the site?

Could you recommend me to someone who could do some speed optimizing and general cleanup for me? Of course I don’t want to spend a ton but of course I could use some guidance and assistance.

    Thanks!

Fixing the closed bracket issue and deleting the incomplete style corrected the issue!

    Thanks again!!!

    Bill,

    Thanks,

    Thanks Bill!

I did reinstall WP but unfortunately the plugin is still not functioning (no drop down menus work).

But more concerning to me is the css rendering issue in Safari…. still can’t seem to get the custom css to work (sidebars are supposed to be wider) despite fixing the dns issue.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks again!!!

Wow thanks for such a quick response… I wish I had checked back sooner.

    1. I realized that part of the problem was with the redirect from http://www.dzakins.com to http://www.dzakinsdeli.com. I updated my nameservers for the forwarding domain and it resolved the issue with most browsers but unfortunately not with the Safari browser. I included a screenshot of my site on Safari. Although I did figure out how to get the logo to center, the sidebar width has shrunk down causing the widget heading text to overlap a bit. Any ideas?

    2. Now I can’t seem to recreate this problem anymore so it must be solved… sorry for the false alarm.

    3. Got it! Thank you!!!

    4. Still wasn’t able to get the plugin to work. Tried using an original theme, uninstalling, reinstalling, etc. Not quite sure what to do with that one. Any ideas?

As always you’re exceptionally helpful and I appreciate it!

I have that in place since the responsive isn’t quite ready yet… if you click on the desktop link on the bottom it’ll redirect you to the original responsive mobile site. I was able to get the navigation text to show but now I’m having inconsistency with my full sites sidebar navigation background hover color and text (Best to recreate by clicking on the “about us” link and then hovering over the about us, contact us, in the news, etc buttons… some hovers are white, some burgundy… text is also inconsistent).

Thanks for the easy directions. Turns out it was the ready e-commerce plugin.

So close… yes, I was able to get the slideshow working by disabling the lightbox but I do like the lightbox feature. I installed the jquery plugin hoping it would allow both to function but no luck. How can I get both to function?

Thanks in advance for all your help!

I updated the theme (created a new theme) and everything is working now…. except the background image slideshow. Thanks!

The logo centering worked perfectly but unfortunately that was the extent of my success. I noticed in my stylesheet that #content and #sidebar do not exist anywhere (#logo does). Could I have an incomplete css file?

Much easier than expected. Just had to unzip the Bottega file, rename the parent folder to Bottega2 and then compress it again. Then I just uploaded it to wordpress through their install feature.

However, I ran into another snag. The home page template is not working. Currently I am unable to view the slideshow and the featured row now looks like blog posts. Plus everything else is missing.

    Thanks for the help!
