Dale EbyParticipant
Thank you again Bill for all your help and your plug in suggestions. I worked through your directions and I am on track again.
I had a few more questions for you. The site is parked on daleeby.com
1.) I changed the color of the row in the layout builder where you had directed me. My question is how do I get the row the full width of the screen. I tried playing around with the padding and other boxes to no avail.
2.) This may be a similar situation. I used the layout builder to add in the mail chimp widget. I edit the row as you directed me and made a different color for the row. The color only changes at the very end of the tips on each side and does not produce box like affect like the row above it. Is there a way to make this like your demo version?
Thank you
Dale EbyParticipantThank you Bill. I will fix these today.
For facebook and youtube I wanted to put Icons on the website. In prior versions you had areas to put the URL and magically the icons appeared.
Thank you again for the support.
Dale EbyParticipantHi Bill,
As always, your instructions are dead on. Thank you.
I am getting the swing of the layout builder and the visual editor and I have installed the Black Studio plug in.
I had a couple of other questions for you. Thank you in advance for all your support as I am transitioning to the new format.
The website is parked at daleeby.com
1.) On you demo with finesse template on your site you have color background transitions happening as a user scrolls downward. I have installed as a widget the layout editor, and then added the visual editor. I have tried to change the background color to a grey for example. While a part of this panel changes it does not change the whole background in the visual editor part, in this case where the images of books are located. Have you installed a colored back ground image to add color to the transition?
2.) On the the home page, if you scroll beneath the first hero image, I have a transition panel which only has the title of home page. I have been trying to understand where the flag is to eliminate this?
3.) In Addition I was trying to understand how to change the color of the buttons for the mail chimp integration you have.
4.) Last is where do i find the youtube and facebook integration you have included with this.
Thank you for your patience.
Dale EbyParticipantThank you for always for such excellent support. I really appreciate it. I will be working on this.
today.I have the site parked at http://www.daleeby.com
Thank you
Dale EbyParticipantGood Afternoon Bill,
Thank you for your response and the modified code you included.
I tried the code you sent, and the good news is the site did not crash.
I also tried the other code I sent in the prior post.Neither worked.
Have you seen this problem before? It seems to be know with WPML as that is where
I found the snippet of code to try.Would you have any other suggestions? I have been researching and nothing seems to stand out.
Thank you

Dale EbyParticipantGood Morning Bill,
Thank you for your help.
That was a big upgrade with wordpress and Foundation theme. I am glad I have test sites to check out the changes that will occur with an upgrade and the affects it will have on an existing sites and plugins.
It took a while, although I think I am back in the game and have most of it straightened out.
Thank you again for your support.
Dale EbyParticipantHello Bill,
Thank you for such a quick response.
I am not sure I explained my self quite right.
I checked the line I had sent from the mailchimp widget and the line you provided.
They seem the same.I was hoping you might be able to show me the proper coding to get WPML to recognize this line.
I had tried to put in what I thought were the changes needed and only created problems.
Thank you Bill.
Dale EbyParticipantHi Bill,
Thank you for your reply.
Everything you suggested worked perfect.
There is one minor side effect of marking the the post as image format.
I have a featured image displayed twice. Once in the blog post and once
above the complete post.I thought perhaps I didnot require the featured image anymore and removed it. That is not the case though.
Here is the example post. http://volunteersanmiguel.com/why-volunteer-in-san-miguel-de-allende/
Thank you Bill
Dale EbyParticipantHi Bill,
This solved the problem. Thank you.
Look so straightforward now that I see how you did it.
Have a great day.
Dale EbyParticipantHi Bill,
I think I added the recommended coding in right place in the header.php.
It did not seem to make a difference. I think I maybe missing something.Thank you.
I have included the change here.
Dale EbyParticipantThank you for the response Bill.
I tried putting in the code you gave me, it worked, it just moved the wrong item I wanted.
The code moved the space between the bottom of the static image on the site and the widgets.I apologize I should have explained myself better.
What I was hoping to do is put a bit of space between the bottom of the navigation bar and the top of the
static image on http://www.donatesanmiguel.com.Right now there is no white space. I included a capture of the test site where there is space
between the bottom of the navigation bar and the top of the static image.Thank you

Dale EbyParticipantHi Bill,
Thank you for such a prompt reply.
Worked perfect!
Thank you
The other question I had was if I wanted to put a space between the menu navigation bar and the static image how would that be done? I wanted just a bit of white space there.

Dale EbyParticipantThank you for your quick reply Bill.
I am sorry to bother with something that is so obvious now that I see it.
I am learning slowly each new site I build.Thank you again for your patience and understanding,

I am sorry I misread the post.
The new code worked perfect.
Thank you

I was looking at this today. I found the header.php and did a search for the
code you noted in your response.I went through whole header.php file and could not find the line you reference.
Can I just copy the new line of code you gave me and paste into the header.php file?
Thank you
Dale EbyParticipantThank you Bill,
Worked perfect.
August 5, 2013 at 08:47 in reply to: Increasing max amount of posts on front page of foundation #12767Dale EbyParticipantHi Bill,
I am not using a featured post widget in the foundation theme.
I am just using the default settings that are on the theme options->home page->number of posts. There the maximum is 5.
I was hoping to increase amount to 6 or 7.
To be honest I was looking for a featured post widget and could not find this in the widget area. (I do use the featured page widget on the website, although I do not think this affects the posts)
Perhaps I am not looking in the right area?
Thank you
Dale EbyParticipantGood Morning,
I wanted to update you on what I found out about this problem with changing the default language in WPML once you have it set. For example I had the default as English and after the site was built we wanted to change the default language to Spanish.
After the initial change, which is just a checking a flag, I had alot of problems with the site, I lost the menus, and anything associated with WPML translations, which included the widgets which I used with Widget logic.
I thought upgrading to the latest versions would solve the problems, this was not the fix though.
Ultimately there was 2 things. One was I went into all the widgets associated with Widget logic plug and re-saved them. I believe after the default language change, re-saving them updated the files associated with WPML.
The menus were recovered by re-syncing them within the WPML CMS program.
Again, I believe this updated any files associated with WPML and wordpress. This is what worked for me. I thought the knowledge may help someone out.
Thank you
Dale EbyParticipantHi Bill,
I resolved this problem by building new menus.
I am not sure what caused the problem when changing the default language. Some home work for me.
Thank you
Dale EbyParticipantThank you for your reply Bill. This is what I was looking for.
Dale EbyParticipantThank you Bill. Works perfect,
Dale EbyParticipantThank you for your response and patience with my questions.
I think I understand the references you make in the list. Is there a way to automatically to set a default of the text to be just a bit smaller. I find the titles in the blog extremely large compared to the actually text within the blog.
Thank you
Dale EbyParticipantThank you Bill for your suggestions. I appreciate the prompt response,
Dale EbyParticipantThank you Bill. Worked perfect
Have a great 4th of July.
