Good evening Organized Theme support and users,

I would like to know what script needs to be replaced with files from the demo page or an older version of WordPress to fix the Slideshow on the homepage.

    Information:
Self hosted on Windows Server 2012
    Wordpress 3.9.1
    MySQL & PHP 5.5
    Epic Theme

I noticed that you mentioned that a WordPress script was updated in another post:

    Thank you,

    Nathan G

    Good Morning Nathan,

Thank you for your business first of all. Great question too. I took a look at your site and it appears to be using the current version of the Epic theme so there’s nothing that you need to change with it. Last summer some users who had not updated their themes ran into a conflict when WordPress 3.5 was released. They had to either update the theme or use a quick plugin.

It does look like we need to set up your home page though. First you’ll want to edit the page that’s your front page. Look in the right hand column there for the attributes box. In that box there is a drop-down menu for templates. Choose the Home template from there and update your page.

The content on the home page comes from widgets. You can add those by going to the Appearance section in your WordPress dashboard and choosing Widgets. There are two widget areas on the front page. The Home Top is used if you’ve set the top of your home page to use the sidebar arrangement. It will appear next to the slideshow. The Home Bottom sidebar will contain everything from the slideshow down.

You can set up your slideshow by going to the Media section in your WordPress dashboard and choosing Slides. Here’s a quick video to show how they work:

If you have any questions or trouble, let me know.

    Thanks,
    Bill
