    Hi Guys,

I just installed a child theme but after activating my child theme, the menu bar on the top black row has disappeared.

I have checked the following things:

Settings > Reading > Front page = Has my home page.
When I edit my home page, Page Attributes > Template = Home Page
Appearance > Menus. There is still a menu there.

And after some more searching I found that I needed to do this:

    Menu > Manage Locations tab,
Choose the menu you wish to appear from the drop down,
    Save changes.

Are you able to update your help file:
    https://support.organizedthemes.com/responsive-visual/

I did search that entire page for menu and couldn’t find my solution.

    Thanks,
    Adrian

    Hello Adrian,

Sorry for the trouble there. When switching to a child theme, you are actually using a new theme as far as WordPress is concerned. Each time a new theme is selected, the navigation menu locations have to be set again. The menus themselves won’t be lost, but they do have to be assigned again.

    Sorry for the trouble there.

If I can help with anything, just let me know,
    Bill
