two sites, same settings, one front page not working

Hi:

here are the sites I’m working on for the client:
English: http://kimonowinebar.modernmediajapan.com
Japanese: http://kimonowinebarjp.modernmediajapan.com

I’ve copied the settings from the English site to the Japanese one, but I’m still showing the ホーム page instead of the Home page with the photos.

For example, in the theme Home page settings for the English site, I have it set to no Type, Title, or Content, just the image. I have it set the same way for the Japanese site, and I’ve uploaded the image in the same place, but it’s not showing.
I also checked the main Settings/Reading to make sure the front page and blog pages are selected, and they are.

I’m sure there’s some simple setting I’m not handling correctly, but need some help in figuring out what that is….

Terri,

On the Japanese version, do you have the home page you created set to be the “front page” in the reading settings (Settings > Reading)? Usually when the home page isn’t displaying that’s what’s going on.

If it’s set there, do you have the home page template selected for that specific page? There is a drop-down menu on the right hand side if you’re editing your home page where you can choose the home page template.

If it’s not one of those two, let me know and we’ll go from there.

I hope this finds you well. I’ve been ill and am just getting back to finishing the 2 sites, and something has again gone wrong – I’m sure I did something weird, but not sure what. Here they are:

I checked that the Reading settings are the home page in each case.
I checked the home pages to make sure the Home template is selected.

In addition to that problem, the Japanese site’s menus aren’t showing on the menu page, even though I did enter them.

so, right now, I’ve done something and made things a mess. can I ask you to go into both sites and see if you can fix them?
