Theme not working as expected

We cannot figure out how to make the video widgets work. We paste the vimeo embed code into the boxes as indicated on the widgets menu page, but without effect. What are we doing wrong?

Also, we cannot completely turn off the donor bar on the full width template, but we can’t seem to activate it at all on other page templates, including the default.

Sorry for the trouble and I’d be glad to help.

Donation Bar: In my helping someone else out with a question, it looks like I added the donation bar to the full width template, where it isn’t supposed to be. Here’s how to take it out of there.

1. Go to the appearance section and select edit to open up the theme editor.
2. From the list of files on your right, choose page-full.php and look for this spot:

   <?php include(TEMPLATEPATH.”/includes/donation-bar.php”);?>

3. Delete that line and save your changes.

That will remove the donation bar from the full-width template. It should only be visible on the default home page. That’s the home page that’s visible in the demo. You can use that home page by having your reading settings set to “Display latest posts” instead of specifying a page. There is a quick article that explains that here.

Thanks. I’m guessing if we can get the right page to show up as the hoe page those video widgets might work. But I cannot locate the place to specify the default home page as in the earlier post you referenced. The only “reading” page I can find is “wp-admin/options-reading.php. I’d post a photo but I can’t.

These settings say:

Blog pages show at most (box for input) posts

Syndication feeds show the most recent (box for number) items

For each article in a feed, show (radio buttons for “Full text” and “Summary”

Obviously I’m in the wrong place. Is this a change in the new WordPress release or can you tell me how to find the right place?
