My client wants to set up a secure donation feature where they accept credit card donations but they don’t want to use paypal. I know I need to set up a secure link (SSL certificate) on my web site but how do I use wordpress for this? I think that Authorize.net has a way to interface. Any help you can offer would be great. Thanks!

    Carl,

You are right that you’ll need a SSL certificate. There is also a handy plugin called WordPress HTTPS that will allow you to choose which pages on your site are HTTPS and which ones are not.

The easiest way I know of to accept payments via Authorize.net for donations is to use Gravity Forms. The developer license of their product has an add-on that lets you process transactions via Authorize.net. I would suggest going with that personally. Gravity Forms is an excellent plugin that I use on virtually every site I set up. Plus if you have any trouble, they are great a helping you out.

If you have any trouble or questions, just let me know,
    Bill
