    Hello,
I am looking to add a “open table” social media icon to go along with the other icons but having trouble. Could you point me in the right direction?

please email me back at kyles@divingdog.com

    Any direction would be great!

    Thanks

    Hi Joel,

Excellent question there. Open Table icons are rarely packaged in either icon fonts or icon sets that match other brands and social networks. In their brand guidelines they are rather specific about how they want things to appear and perhaps as a consequence they have kept their icons out of such sets. Regardless of the reason, they are absent from most of the icon sets out there and all of the icon fonts that I’ve seen.

So having one that matches the existing social icons will be next to impossible. You could download their logo or icon from http://brand.opentable.com/logo/ and then insert it into a text or visual editor widget as a link to the restaurant’s Open Table page. That would probably be the best option. The other would be to find an icon set that’s to your liking and create a companion Open Table icon to go with it.

If they ever add Open Table to either the icon font the theme uses or one of the other large font sets, I’ll roll it into the theme. The advantage of using an icon font is the colors and size can be changed via CSS and don’t require using an image editor which is why I went with one for the theme instead of an image based set.

Let me know if I can help out,
    Bill
