    Hi
    I have been using the Epic theme for our church website for about 4 months and am really pleased with how it’s been working for us. However, just in the last week or so it seems that our site is very temperamental in how it loads in Chrome. We haven’t made any particular changes to it, other than simple text edits. The only thing that I can see that has changed is the release of wordpress version 3.8.1, which we are now running. Would this have affected how our site loads? All our plugins etc are up to date.

    Problems we are experiencing in Chrome are many, such as: menu not loading until you scroll the mouse over it. home page slider not loading. Entire site loading each page twice (page loads then flashes off then loads again)…

    I look forward to any advice or thoughts on this.

    Many thanks
    Ali

    Hello Ali,

    Sorry for the trouble there. Unfortunately this bug is actually in the latest version of Chrome that Google released. It keeps web fonts from being displayed on many sites, though not all.

    I did make a plugin that can help until Google releases a fix in the next update for Chrome. If you’ll go to https://support.organizedthemes.com/chrome-font-bug/ you can find the link to download the plugin and install it. See if that won’t help things out, at least until they fix the issue.

    If you have any trouble, let me know.

    Thanks,
    Bill

    Many thanks
    This has resolved the font / menu loading issue. Fantastic.

    However, each page in my site is still flashing on and off once before it fully loads … any ideas why this would be?

    Has only been doing this in the last week or so

    Thanks
    Ali

    Hey Ali,

    That flashing is a bit unusual. Let’s try this and see if it helps:

    1. Go to the Theme Options page and select the Styling tab.
    2. Scroll down to the Custom CSS box and paste this:

      .home .fadeIn {
      	-webkit-animation-delay: 0;
      }

      .fadeIn {
      	-webkit-animation-delay: 0;
      }

    3. Update your settings.

    Let me know if that doesn't do the trick.

    By the way your site's really looking great too. Really good work there.

    Thanks,
    Bill
