    Hi Bill

Sorry to trouble you again. I am sure I am just doing something daft, but I am having trouble getting the specific sidebars to show up…

For example, I have created a page for ‘Our team’ and applied the Staff template to it… the two staff members I have created (dummy content while I’m building) show up as they should – but the sidebar showing is the Page sidebar. I know this because I have added a text widget to all the sidebars which identify them – while I am trying to suss this out.

If you want to have a look, I haven’t disabled your log in yet at thetlc.org

    Thank you!

    Ben

P.S. I am adapting the functions of your fab theme to suit our needs… e.g. instead of Sponsors, I am planning on using the Sponsors functionality for the services we provide. Is there a simple way to change the name of Sponsors to Services? If not, we can live with it… but if you don’t ask you don’t get… 🙂

    Hello Ben,

Great question. There was a bug in the sidebar script where the sponsors sidebar wouldn’t load if you were using the sponsor page template. Instead the page sidebar would load instead. It’s patched in version 3.2.8 which you can update too. Just in case you’ve modified any theme files, I didn’t update the theme, but instead just updated the sidebar.php file so it would work properly for you.

You can also change the URL slug structure for the sponsors if you’d like to also. To do that go to the Theme Options page and select the General Options tab. Near the bottom there is an option to change the URL slug for your staff and sponsors. You can enter a new slug there for your individual staff members there. Make sure it’s all lowercase and contains only numbers, letters and dashes.

Once you save your changes, you’ll need to go to the Settings section and select Permalinks. Save your permalinks there a couple of times to make sure the permalink cache is cleared out. Then you should be able to see your new URL’s.

If you run into any questions or trouble, just let me know.

    Enjoy your weekend,
    Bill
