    Good day Bill,

    Happy Holidays,

It’s been some time, but I am really having a hard time getting a login/logout to work for a particular page which is set as a subdomain for internet access. I tried a login widget but it only works with wp-admin and i can’t figure out how to active login for only certain pages and not the main landing page.

Also, my scroll bars have disappeared on pages and now require use of the up and down arrows.

For the logon, do I need to focus on the .htaccess folder and move all pages under this folder for the main subdomain page, any assistance you may provide is appreciated, I have been trying with this for some time now. I’m using word press as the content manager and site.

    Hi Tee,

Have you looked at using a membership plugin like Restrict Content (https://wordpress.org/plugins/restrict-content/) or a similar plugin? A good membership plugin will handle logins, registrations and keeping some content hidden from people who aren’t logged in or who don’t have the necessary permission for it. I haven’t looked at these in a while so there are likely other options, but I would go with a plugin to handle that if it was my site.

It looks like the Scrollbar Designer plugin is likely what’s changing up your scrollbars. You could see if it has options in its settings to change that. If not I would suspect that deactivating it would bring the originals back.

    Have a Merry Christmas,
    Bill

It’s been a good while since I took a close look a membership plugins. Chris Lema did a rather exhaustive search this year. You can look through what he found at http://chrislema.com/best-wordpress-membership-plugin-2015/ .

The core WordPress functionality for logging in will take users directly to the dashboard. You’ll need a plugin to change that. It doesn’t have to be restrict content or the paid version, but a plugin will be the way to go here. There are lots of moving parts and a good plugin will make this much better for you.
