Removing Links
URL to the page in question:
dev.jams-deli.com
-
I have 2 questions:
1 – how do I remove links in the service feature. I am using it for the catering menu at http://dev.jams-deli.com/jams-deli-catering-menu/ but I don’t have enough information to have it actually link to more information. I like how the text links have a different color, I just don’t want them to link anywhere.
2 – On the posts, how can I hide the name of the poster, comments link and 2nd link to the post that appear on the page (http://dev.jams-deli.com). I just want it to say, for example, the title “Today’s Special” and keep the date and the info about the special, but none of the other post information.
Hello Sarah,
Great questions. Let’s see if we can find answers for you:
1. You can make that change with a bit of editing. Here’s how:
- Go to the Appearance section in your WordPress dashboard and choose Edit.
- From the list of files on your right, choose service-item.php
- Replace everything in that file with this:
(Make sure to copy that directly from the support site and not the notification email)
- Save your changes.
That should remove the links in the service section for you.
2. It’s also possible to hide that information on your posts. Here’s how:
- Go to your theme options page and choose the Advanced tab.
- Scroll down to the Custom CSS box and add this:
p.post-meta {
display: none;
}
- Update your settings.
If you have any questions or trouble, just let me know.
Thanks,
Bill
Thank you so much for these. They both worked, however, I was wondering if in the 2nd question, instead of removing all of the data, we can still keep the date that it was posted?
Sarah,
You can set it up that way too. Here’s how to only show the date:
- Go to your theme options page and choose the Advanced tab.
- Scroll down to the Custom CSS box and add this:
p.post-meta span {
display: none;
}
p.post-meta span.post-date {
display: inline-block;
}
- Update your settings.
Let me know if that doesn’t do the trick for you 🙂
