Rearrange order of food menu groups and items?

Is it possible to rearrange the order of food groups and individual items in the food menu? It appears that as groups and items are added, they have to be added from the bottom (of my paper menu) to the top in order for them to appear from the top to the bottom on the site because there doesn’t appear to be an option to rearrange added groups and items once they’re added. Hi Fred,

Excellent question. You can do that. The best way to go about it is by using two plugins: Simple Page Ordering (https://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-page-ordering/) and Category Order and Taxonomy Terms Order (https://wordpress.org/plugins/taxonomy-terms-order/).

The first one will let you rearrange your food menu items via drag and drop. It adds the ability to sort those with drag and drop from the listing screen in your WordPress admin. The second one adds a new screen in the food section that you can use to rearrange the menu groups into the order that you’d like to have them.

Thanks, Bill! I’ll try that. I might have two more questions about adding a tag line under the logo in the sidebar and also including separate navigation bar links for different food groups (Appetizers, Entrees, Desserts, Drinks).

Let me know how it goes. You can add menu groups directly to your navigation menu, like you would a WordPress page. If you don’t see menu groups listed in your navigation screen (Appearance > Menus in your WordPress dashboard), click on the screen options tab in the top right corner of the screen and make sure the checkbox next to menu groups is checked.

You can add in a tagline. If you don’t mind, make a new post about question and I’ll show you how to add it in. That way if someone else wants to go that route in the future, I’ll be able to point them to the answer I give you.
