Pulling thumbnail from latest podcast onto homepage

Hi Bill

For the “currrent series” wiget on the homepage,

Is there any way to pull the image from the most recent podcast, rather than the series?

(I am using the podcast archive page to list all podcast rather than individual series http://salenaknight.com/podcasts/)

One way you could do that would be to create a single series and then use a redirection plugin to redirect the URL of the series to the current podcast episode. That’s less than ideal because you’d have to change it with every podcast that’s published, but it would work.

Another option would be to try one of the recent post plugins that are out there. Some have lots of options such as choosing a post type (in this case podcast) and also including a featured image.

The advantage of going that way is you’ll not have to update the widget with every episode that you publish.
