We have installed several Plugins in our Epic WordPress site that has Not yet been published (temp http://78b.1eb.myftpupload.com/). Once site has been published do we have to reinstall/reconfigure and /or open a new account for any plugins such as Jetpack?

The reason I asked is that during the plugin installation process it asked me to subscribe, and I am concerned the subscription service uses the current temp location which will be changed one the site is published.

    Thank you!

    Hi Jerry,

Good question. You’ll most likely need to add the live site in Jetpack too. I’m not a Jetpack user myself, but I believe their recommendation is to not activate its connections until the site is out on the final URL to keep that from happening. Sounds like you’ll just need to make that connection again.

Most other plugins should work out fine, especially if files are still accessible via the old URL. Some hosts are better at transitioning temporary URLs to the final one than others so having it available both places can be helpful for the transition.

Let me know if you have any questions,
    Bill
