    Good Morning Philipp,

Great question there. I believe WordPress uses the built in “Medium” image size for the attachment image previews. You can change the dimensions. Go to the Settings section in your WordPress dashboard and choose Media. At the top of this screen you can set the dimensions of the default image sizes. You’ll want to adjust the medium one to fit your needs. The width of the left hand column is 710 pixels so you probably don’t want to make it larger than that.

Once you’ve set the size, save your changes. For it to affect the images you’ve already uploaded you’ll need to install the Regenerate Thumbnails plugin. This adds a new screen in the Tools section where you can resize your existing images to the new dimensions.

If you have any questions or trouble, let me know.

    Thanks,
    Bill
