Post Excerpt

Hi –

I am building my business website (www.ratherthanrunning.com) using Epic and thought I’d treat my past clients like posts. So I’m adding a post for each client to showcase them.

However, on the list of clients (i.e. a page I created to show all posts from the category “client”) it shows the post content which isn’t formatted and is hard to read. I thought I remembered that you could setup your own excerpt for each post so as to avoid this situation.

So I looked in main-index.php and it does appear to be trying to find the excerpt. But when I look at my post edit page, I do not see where I can enter the excerpt.

Lara,

You may be a victim of WordPress trying to have a “clean” interface here. Try editing a post and then click on “Screen Options” in the top right hand corner. Make sure the box next to Excerpt is checked. You should then see a new box below the main content box, where you can enter your excerpt.
