We currently have three podcasts showing up on our homepage. When we add a new sermon will the oldest one go to an archive page or do we have to put it there ourselves?

Also, can we link to our Sermon Archives? If so, where do we do that?

    Hello Susan,

As you add more series, the newest three will appear in your home page widget. It’ll happen automatically as you create them.

It’s a good idea to have an archive on your site. What you’ll want to do is create a new page. Choose the Podcast Series List template for it and publish it. Then add it to your navigation menu so your visitors can find it easily.

That’ll give you an archive that lists all the series on your site in one place.

If you have any questions, let me know.

    Thanks,
    Bill

I see two places for Podcasts. The spot we are uploading our podcasts to is on the left column under Podcast. I found another spot under Appearance, Theme Options, then the Audio Feed. Are we using the wrong area? The podcasts seem to be fine. Is there a benefit to use the Audio Feed?

    Hello Susan,

The section that’s in the theme options page is to configure your podcast feed so it will work with iTunes should you choose to submit it there. Apple requires some information such as artwork, author, category and so on. We save that information in the theme options page under the audio and video feed tabs.

You’re adding your podcast episodes in the correct spot. Keep on doing that. If you want to make your podcast feed available to others, fill out the information in the audio feed tab. Then create a page and choose the podcast audio feed template for that page. This is not intended for visitors so don’t add it to your navigation menu. It’s there so you can submit it to iTunes and other services.

You can also create a feed for video podcasts if you’ll be using video for your podcasts too. Same idea just fill in the options for the video feed and then create another page to use with the podcast video feed template.

    Take care,
    Bill
