Podcast speaker page not found with permalinks

Bill,

Setting the permalinks to plain fixed the problem of the podcast speaker not showing up. However, I still get the “page not found” when I set the peramlinks to anything other than plain. Is there a tweak to get permalinks to work?

Hi Carter,

In order to let the server know about the permalink changes, WordPress needs to modify a file on the server. If it doesn’t have the ability to make those changes then the user gets a not found error instead of the page. At one point there was an easy to miss notice on the permalinks page after an update if the file was unable to be changed. Try making the change again again and see if there is any additional text on the page that wasn’t there before.

If you’re on a Windows server, then it’s a bit different.
