Hey Bill,
I have a quick podcast question for you. I am setting up our podcasts to go through Itunes currently and when I looked for both I found both. The audio had my one podcast on it, though the video didn’t show any video podcasts at all. Could this be since i’m embedding instead of putting a file in the file/upload link? Am I missing a step or something?Thanks in advance!

For iTunes video, you’ll need to supply a MP4 file. That way Applehas something to distribute like they do the MP3 files for audio.

This will be the video file you uploaded to Vimeo most likely. There is an uploader for it when editing a podcast.
so i’d have to actually upload a video through the spot on the podcast page? so basically hosting the video on the website server?? which doesn’t sound so good lol.
You can host the files with a service like Amazon’s S3 but you can’t use something like YouTube or Vimeo. You can use them on your site that way, just not iTunes. Their rules; not mine.

No it’s all good~ Just wasn’t aware you couldn’t. New to the whole actually putting podcast on itunes thing! Thanks for the info. I’m thinking we’ll just leave the video on site and do the audio only on itunes. We’re putting audio on S3 already. But i’m sure they can just get to our page for video!
When you get down to it, iTunes is just an RSS feed service. It lets people subscribe and points subscribers to the content you provide. It doesn’t host anything itself.
It wasn’t until I started setting these up that I realized tgat was the case.
