photo gallery

I’m new to the Forward theme, still exploring, probably haven’t yet discovered all it will do.

Would like to add one or more gallery pages to a site I’m working on.

Is there a gallery function included in the theme, or is there a recommended gallery plugin I can check out? I’ve used NextGEN Gallery before and it seemed to be good.

Hello Sheila,

Thank you for your business first of all. Excellent question too. WordPress’ built in gallery feature works well for most websites. To add a gallery with it, click the “Add Media” button that’s above the main content area when you’re editing a page. That will open up the media library pop-up.

On the left hand side there is a link to create a gallery. Click on it. You can then upload images or choose existing images out of the media library. You can also set the order, the number of thumbnails per row and a few other options there.

If you choose to have the images link to the media file instead of the attachment page, then the theme will have those thumbnails open up in an image lightbox.
