It’s been a while since I’ve created a new page/series, and I’m having two issues.

    1. On my homepage, when I hover on the “About” tab and click on “current series,” it will not go to my latest series. How to do change the link underlying the hyperlink?

    2. Secondly, the page-redirect feature under the advanced SEO settings does not seem to work. I’ve created a page with the url http://www.gracewaynesboro.com/hope and would like to make it go to http://www.gracewaynesboro.com/series/thethrillofhope/. Remind me again how to do this, please!

    Thanks for your time.

    Hi Richard,

Hope all is well. Let’s see if we can find answers for you.

    1. Current Series Menu Item — You’re welcome to add the current series to your navigation menu, but it will need to be updated each time you create a new series. You can edit your menus by going to the Appearance section in your dashboard and clicking on menus, or inside of the customizer. There is a menu section there.

Essentially you’ll want to delete the current link and then add the new series to the menu. Once it’s in the menu, click the down arrow on the right hand side of that menu item to open up options for it. You can then change the text to say “current series” from the name of the series. Save your changes and that should do it.

    2. Redirect — It looks like at some point, Yoast took out the redirect feature from his SEO plugin. It used to be under the advanced tab, but I no longer see it there. It could be one of the underlying WordPress functions changed and they elected to remove the feature instead of updating it.

Most likely you’ll need a different plugin to do that; something like Quick Page/Post Redirect (https://wordpress.org/plugins/quick-pagepost-redirect-plugin/). I haven’t used that one, but it does have good reviews with a large installed base.

    Have a great weekend,
    Bill
