I’m working with a restaurant and would like to highlight their entrees with a slideshow that could be viewed on mobile. Is this possible and if so, how would I go about it?

To set that up, you’ll need to use some type of slider plugin. There are lots of them out there. I just saw a listing of some at http://speckyboy.com/2013/06/06/the-best-free-responsive-sliders-plugins-for-wordpress/
You might look through that post to see if one looks like it will fit your needs and give it a try.
If you experiment with more than one, make sure to leave only one active at a time so you don’t have conflicts or slow your site down.
