Mobile Navigation Menu

Hi Bill,
On the off chance, is there any way to get the Nav menu on Responsive Visual the same as the style in the Elite theme. If you have a look at: http://testsite.noflockingbirds.com/ (which I feel looks pretty awesome now!) on a mobile phone is just doesn’t seem easy to use.
Thanks heaps
Adam
Adam,
Great question. What I would suggest trying is a plugin called TinyNav. It replaces the default WordPress menu with a select drop down on mobile devices. On several of our themes, we use the jQuery script behind this plugin to do the same thing, it’s just not built-into Responsive Visual.
Give that a try and let me know if you need any help with it.
Thanks,
Bill
Hey Bill, thanks for the suggestion for the plugin.
I have activated it and its added the viewport line to my header.php file as below:
<meta name=”viewport” content=”width=device-width, initial-scale=1.0″>
It doesn’t seem to change anything on my mobile view however, any further suggestions to the TinyNav plugin?
Hey Adam,
In the TinyNav settings, there is a spot where you can enter the Custom ID/Class of your menu. In that spot enter this:
#menu-main-menu
and turn off the option to add the viewport tag. See if that won’t swap out your menu for a select on mobile devices.
Let me know if you run into trouble,
Bill
That did the trick! Thanks very much Bill.
Regards,
Adam
Fantastic. If you need anything we’ll be here.
