ParticipantHi – We are building out this site on a GoDaddy server. We have their WP account and we can build out under temporary URL. Internally the menus have never really worked right. They seem to slow or hand up alot. Do you see it when you browse that site with either IE, Firefox or Chrome? The menu functionality seems broken.
I’m hoping there’s a fix for the behavior we are seeing.
Thanks, PR

ParticipantHi Peter,
Sorry for the trouble. I took a quick look in Safari, Chrome and Firefox at the menu and it appeared to work a expected in those browsers. Here’s a video of it in Firefox:
If you’re still running into trouble, let me know. If you can also let me know what operating system and version you’re seeing it in. And also the browsers and their versions too.

ParticipantHi Bill – We are still seeing the problem on Windows 8 and Windows 10 with Chrome, IE, and Firefox. Attached is a screenshot with the menus stuck open. We also see the menus roll down with an extra space between each sub menu item. I really hoping this fixable…we’ve put a lot of time into this site.
Best,
PeterAttachments:

ParticipantI’ll be glad to take a look. What versions of the browsers are you using too?

ParticipantI took a look on my PC. Here’s the video of what I see in IE 11, Chrome and Firefox:

Sorry I had to shoot that with my phone since I don’t have screen capture software on my PC, just my Mac. I didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary with the menu system. It loaded closed and only appeared when I hovered over them. I do see the trouble you’ve run into in your screenshots, but so far I can’t see it myself.
Have you tried to see if it makes a difference when you’re logged out? As I view the site, I’m seeing the logged out rendering. Looking at the screenshot above it appears that you’re logged in. If that makes a difference it might point us to the trouble you’re having.

ParticipantHi Bill –
I think we have narrowed down when the menus start failing. If you put an image on a page or slideshow, then browse to that in any browser, you will see the menus begin to hang up.
Go to either of these URLs and let me know if you see strange behavior.

ParticipantHi Peter,
Would you do this for me? Disable all plugins on your site, clear out your browser’s cache and see if you still run into the trouble. If you do, let me know. If you don’t, then turn the plugins on, one by one until it happens again. Then we’ll know where the interference is coming from.
Thanks,

ParticipantHere’s the culprit: https://www.wonderplugin.com/wordpress-tabs/
I bought this control and find it valuable. I wonder how we can troubleshoot this problem? Thanks, PR

ParticipantHey Peter,
There are quite a few tab plugins out there that you might also look at like https://wordpress.org/plugins/tabby-responsive-tabs/. Switching plugins will be faster and much cheaper than hunting down the source of the conflict.
