Logo Shift

I am developing the website for the Riverfund. The Agency Theme is currently running on my localhost using WAMP. I am having a problem with using an image as the logo. The logo runs the fill width of the page (958 pix). However, the Grey bar that would hold the dynamic text is still there and the image has shifted to the right approx. 20 pix. Here is a screen shot: http://www.6grandoaks.com/Downloads/Agency/Problem.jpg
Can you please advise how to fix this problem? Thanking you in advance.
Richard,
Great question about the logo positioning. Here’s how you can change its location.
- Go to the appearance section and select edit to open up the theme editor.
- From the list of files on your right, choose style.css.
- Scroll down to the very bottom and paste this:
#logo {
left: 0px;
}
- Save your changes.
That will move your logo over to be flush with the left hand edge. If you need to adjust the vertical positioning, you can use something like this:
#logo {
left: 0px;
top: 10px;
}
You can even use negative values like top: -10px; to adjust where something is.
If you have any trouble/questions just let me know.
Enjoy your weekend,
Bill
Hi, do you have a specific size recommendation for logos?
Robbie,
Great question. To fit neatly inside the navigation bar, you could have a logo that’s up to 450 pixels wide and 50 pixels tall.
That said, there are other options for how the logo could fit. If you’d like to use a larger logo or one that’s more square, send me a link to where you’re working with the theme and I’ll give you some specific instructions for your custom logo.
Thanks and enjoy your week,
Bill
