Link Not Working
URL to the page in question:
http://
-
In the default sidebar I created an Attention Widget for our GiveMN button (a platform for giving online donations in Minnesota). In the “Link URL:” I pasted the code provided by GiveMN to embed the button. The button shows up just fine but when I click on it it just redirects me to “Oops Page Note Found.” http://2a3.e14.myftpupload.com/ways-to-help/%3Ca%20href=
The button works fine on our old site so I am assuming it is something with me or WordPress and not GiveMN. See button on old site here: http://www.ascensionplace.org/give.html
Any idea why this isn’t working? Am I missing something?
Thank you!
Corein
I can make it work just fine if I use the Text Widget instead but I prefer the look of the Attention Widget if you have any info on how to make it work within that. Thanks!
Hi Corein,
Great question there. The attention widget’s button URL is made to work with a web address (like http://google.com for example). When something other than a URL ends up there, it’ll generally give a URL that doesn’t work quite right when it’s clicked.
I took a look at your Ways to Help page. It looks like from the text widget you have there, that the button should direct to https://givemn.org/organization/Ascension-Place .
What I would do is use that as the URL for your attention widget button instead of the embed code and then add the text you’d like the button to say to the button text field. Hopefully that will give you an attention widget that directs your visitors to the right spot to give.
If you run into trouble, let me know.
Thanks,
Bill
