how to control home page layout

Hi, this is my first attempt at working with the template. I do have 2 questions regarding the Home page.

1. How do I replicate the Home page layout for the Bottega template? The featured row is below my map and info on my page.

2. I also have a gray “bar” below the featured row. Any idea how it get there and how do I get rid of it?

Good questions. Let’s find answers for you.

1. The home page has two ways to add content to it. When content is added to the main content box when editing the home page, it will appear just above the featured row and below the slideshow. That would appear to be where the map and content is now.

The other way is to add widgets to the home sidebar area. These will appear below the featured row. In the demo that’s where the content on the home page comes from. In the demo

2. The gray box that’s there now appears to be an empty visual editor widget. The gray is the background color of the widgets there.
