Steve,
Good question. The short answer is we had completed an update to the theme that had been requested by several users, but had not had time to change out the demo just yet.
The longer answer. When we created the theme, the only way to create the menu section was to use actual posts, just like someone would for a blog entry. The theme relied on categories to display the menu. While that worked, it was a bit limiting. You couldn’t have separate menus for catering and lunch for example.
Since then, WordPress added a feature called custom post types that we could use to create the menu section and give the end users more flexibility. The tradeoff was the full-menu page couldn’t be organized as easily.
Just this afternoon we have released an update to the theme that allows you to create a menu page like the original demo does. The theme still has the ability to have multiple separate menus, but can now have a list like the original.
We also fixed a bug in the menu ordering so the the “order” box will now set the order in which the menu items are fixed.
The update is available in the download section. The demo will be updated tomorrow to match.
Sorry for any trouble and if you have any questions, please let me know.
