Bill,
Could you help me with how you made the animation work for the Home Block Page Widget on your demo?
I want the Events page to display, but I don’t want the animation to affect the actual page, just the widget (is that possible). Also, how did you get a image to work correctly with the animate shortcode? What about the button shortcode?
Thanks,
MattJanuary 22, 2015 at 16:29 #25819MattParticipantBill,
I was wondering how I can delete a node that is causing an issue within a page. I have
in the html div class that I’m not sure how they got there. I checked in the Text (html) part of may page to make sure that there is nothing there although it seems to show below.
December 5, 2014 – January 25, 2015
The “Images of the Lost Cottage” exhibition is on display at Uptown Art Supply & Gallery. Please come by and check out the latest work from Billy Stinson. Although most pieces have already sold, Billy is busy creating more. If you are interested in purchasing one of these remarkable pieces, please visit the online shop.
More products coming soon, so please check back regularly. The Brave Centurian print will remain in stock, other items will be removed from inventory once sold.
It’s on a page where I am using the Animation and Button Shortcode. If I use Full Page width everything is centered and fine, but when I use a sidebar template it cause spacing above the header. It seems to be surrounding the the Animation shortcode, but not sure how to remove it.

January 22, 2015 at 17:27 #25823Bill RobbinsModeratorHey Matt,
Here’s the content from the home block in the demo that has animation in it.
(See the support site for the actual code)I generally use the text editor. Sometimes the visual editor can add unwanted html elements.

January 22, 2015 at 17:35 #25826MattParticipantThanks Bill. Yeah after I sent the post I realized you are probably working in the Text Editor. It does help, which brings me to the other post I created regarding html nodes. Hope you can help me out, because I cannot track it down in the Stylesheet.
January 22, 2015 at 17:50 #25827Bill RobbinsModeratorHey Matt, I think it’s related. That’s why I merged the topics. Try getting those spaces out.
January 22, 2015 at 18:04 #25828MattParticipantI was wondering why I couldn’t find the other topic.:) You had me going there. I added your html and went through and tried to compare where there were differences. The only thing I see is that you used an image and I used and image from a Url link. I see that you have image padding for the top at 30px. I tried that and no difference. The spaces don’t show in the text editor like they do in the html I posted earlier.
This is what I have with your html. Although yours has a slight drop, I can deal with it more than I can mine.You can see that’s it identical besides the anchor tags.

That gives you the maximum amount of flexibility possible in terms of how you set up your site. Want to show products on your home page? Piece of cake. Just use our <em>Home Product Block</em> widget that you can see in the previous section to show off your best items. This block is made using the <em>Page Content</em> block. It pulls content from a page and displays it where ever you'd like to have it on your home page. That lets you add in styled text, images, photo galleries, and any other content that you can add into a page. You can also show your latest posts, display customer testimonials and add in call to action banners. Baffled!!
January 23, 2015 at 08:46 #25840Bill RobbinsModeratorGood Morning Matt,
You can always make adjustments to positioning via CSS. Moving around things in the demo’s home page, would look something like this:
#home-three .cbp-so-side-right { top: -20px; position: relative; } #home-three .cbp-so-side-left { top: 10px; position: relative; }
Just change #home-three to a selector that fits where you’re wanting to change. If you want to change the right hand side, use the top style and adjust the
-20px
to a value that fits that spot. If you want to adjust the left, use the second style. Change the10px
there to fit.Positioning is easy to change with CSS.
Enjoy your weekend,
BillJanuary 23, 2015 at 11:40 #25844MattParticipantGood Morning Bill,
Thanks for the info. I downloaded the CSSEdit app that you referred to me and it’s been very helpful…Thanks. I played around with the Stylesheet and could not get anything to work. However, I was messing with it just now before I responded to your post and was able to get the margin adjustment I wanted.
I used this snippet to get the Header to align to the top of the margin. It worked! Yay!
.cbp-so-side-right {
margin-top: -50px;
}Question on the Button Shortcode…Is there a way to get the ‘button url’ to open in another window for an external site link (I know thats not ideal)? I tried entering an html tag like target=”blank”. But I read that html tags don’t work with certain shortcodes. Any advices would be great.
Thanks,
MattAttachments:
January 23, 2015 at 11:42 #25846Bill RobbinsModeratorHey Matt,
Glad you found what you needed styles wise. There isn’t an option in the button shortcode to open the link in a new window. You can add in a HTML link this way in the text editor and open a link in a new window:
<a class="button" href="http://yourlink.com" target="_blank">Your Link</a>
Enjoy your weekend,
BillJanuary 23, 2015 at 12:32 #25847MattParticipantThanks Bill! You too!
