Google Analtics

Hi, Where can I place my google analytics tracking code
for my site (Bottega Theme)? In other WP templates I have used this
was a tab named Analytics located under Appearance. Thank you for you help!

Hello Rush,

Great question. You’ll want to use a plugin for that such as the Google Analyticator (https://wordpress.org/plugins/google-analyticator/) which can add in the appropriate tracking code. Two nice elements about that plugin are it adds a dashboard widget so you get a quick view of your site’s traffic in the last month. It’ll also let you remove the tracking code for logged in users if you want. That way you don’t track yourself.

While it is possible to build this into a theme, this type of functionality best fits in a plugin.
