    Looking for an elegant way of inserting a few galleries into our page. We would like it the gallery stayed on the site (instead of opening in a new link or window). I’ve tried “GRAND FlAGallery – Best Photo Gallery” but those galleries are outside the website and the better formatted ones you have to pay for. I’ve also tried “File Gallery” but I don’t think it is much of a difference and it is hard to use.

    Any recommended plugins that work with Foxy?

    Thanks Bill,

    Jeremy

    Jeremy,

    There actually is a built-in gallery that’s included with the theme you can use. A demo of it is here. It will use thumbnails and a lightbox to display the larger image.

    It makes use of WordPress’ built-in gallery. There is actually a quick screencast in our video section that walks through adding a gallery. Essentially you go to the page or post where you’d like to have the gallery. Then you upload all the images you’d like to include (but you don’t need to insert the individual images). Once the images are finished uploading, click save all changes. Then WordPress will give you a button that says “Insert Gallery” or you can just type [gallery] where you’d like the thumbnails to be displayed. WordPress will take care of the rest.

    See if that doesn’t work for you. If it doesn’t, you can disable it in the theme options page and then go with a plugin.

    Let me know if you need any help,
    Bill

    Bill,

    I realize you won’t get to this until next week, that is no problem, I just wanted to make sure I wouldn’t forget. Hope you are having a Happy Father’s Day.

    I have finally gotten back to the website again. I’ve inserted a few photos into the gallery (with captions), but am realizing because the font is white, you cannot see any of the text. How can we change the font to black for this page only?

    Also, is there a way of creating folders with gallery? I would like to be able to organize the photos by event.

    Thanks,

    Jeremy

    Jeremy,

    Thanks. Father’s Day was great.

    Here’s a CSS Snippet that should help with the captions for you:

    #fancybox-title {
    	color: #000 !important;
    }

    For creating folders for your galleries, here’s what I’d suggest doing. Create a post category for your galleries. Then create a new post for each separate gallery. That way you can separate and organize them.

    If you run into any trouble, let me know.

    Have a great week,
    Bill
