Gallery Question

Hi Bill,

First of all, Happy Thanksgiving, and get to this after the holiday weekend and enjoy spending time with the family.

I was playing with the gallery option on a post and was using 5 images that are the same size.

Under Post Template, I checked the “Gallery Post”.

One way I tried uploading was through the Media Library. Slide show worked and had thumbnails below.

The other way I uploaded by inserting the individual images in the order desired into the post. Slide show worked and had full size images below.

I was trying to get the look of your Foundation demo under “Sample Gallery Post”…just the slideshow plus text without the thumbnails or uploaded full-size images.

What step did I miss to achieve the look of your demo gallery?

Did using 400px x 300px full size images instead of the recommended 630×500 set at medium cause this?

Happy Thanksgiving to you too. I’ve nearly gotten the support queue cleared out while our turkey brines. I’m shooting to have everyone’s questions wrapped up before the holiday begins in force. Let’s see if we can’t get your gallery going like you’d like it to be.

The gallery post template can be a bit tricky. Here’s how it works.

1. Upload all the images that you’d like to include in the slideshow on the post where you’d like the slideshow to be. For best results, size the images to be 630 by 420.

2. After you’ve uploaded the images, you also want to make sure not to insert them or the gallery shortcode into the content of your post or that will cause the images to be duplicated beneath the slideshow.

3. Choose the gallery post template

4. Update/publish your post.
