Here’s how it works. Choose the page/post where you’d like to have the gallery displayed. Upload the images you’d like to have in the gallery by clicking upload/insert. For best results make sure your images are at least 960 pixels wide.
Once the images have finished upload, don’t insert them into your content. In the right hand column, you’ll see a box labeled “post format.” Choose gallery from the list of options and then publish your page/post.
You should end up with a slideshow gallery at the top of your page that looks like this in the demo.
It’s also possible to add a thumbnail gallery. To do that, upload your images on the page/post where you’re wanting to have the gallery. Once finished, don’t insert the images, but instead place this “shortcode” where you’d like to have the gallery displayed:
[gallery]
That will add in a thumbnail gallery. You don’t need to choose the “gallery” post format as that will have each image included twice.
