Food menu item image under excerpt instead of on top?

Can I put the featured image of a food item under the description?

You can do that. Here’s how:

1. Go to the Appearance section and select Edit.
2. From the list of files on your right, choose taxonomy-menu-group.php. and find this spot:

   and cut it.

3. Then look down just a bit further until you see this:

   
   <?php the_excerpt(); ?>
   

   and paste the code right below that.

4. Next change single-post-thumbnail in the snippet above to large if you’d like to have a larger image than just the thumbnail.

Save your changes. That should move the image below the excerpt and also let you make it bigger.

Ok, but how can I add normal image to foods in menu?

To add an image to a menu item, edit that item and set a featured image for it. That will add the image to the item’s listing. There’s a quick video in our video section that can walk you through adding a featured image if you need help.
