Create another site using same theme at same url?

Hi Bill,

I recently launched our website at http://bacheinfo.org/wordpress/ using your Progress theme – thank you so much for answering my questions along the way! I could not have done it without your help.

I now need to create a Spanish language version of the website. I have already gotten all my content translated, but I need to create menus in Spanish. I’m already using all 3 of the supported menus, and I was wondering if you could advise me — can I just create a subfolder for the Spanish site and install Progress on there, and recreate the whole site again? Also, I want to make sure I’m being fair to you — should I pay another $50 to use Progress again, since it would essentially be a whole separate site (though in a subfolder)?

Also, feel free to let me know if this is beyond the scope of this forum. We have a limited budget for our nonprofit, so I’m trying to figure this out on the web without having to hire a designer, but it’s possible that I’m in over my head!

Great question. I would suggest looking at the WPML plugin (http://wpml.org) which would let you create your site in multiple languages. It’s generally regarded as the standard in multi-lingual WordPress sites. While you could create a sub-folder and simply recreate everything in Spanish, using the plugin could save you some trouble since you’ll only have one installation to keep up.
