I have two websites I cannot get into via wp-admin.
They are http://www.purplerobert.com and http://www.streetpoets.club
When I try wp-login.php I get the login dialogue box but still cannot get into it.
Interestingly I also get an error message between the word press logo and the login username box which says…
“ERROR: Cookies are blocked due to unexpected output. For help, please see this documentation or try the support forums.”
This ONLY happens on these two sites.GoDaddy host the domains and they think I have been compromised? I said how? They said bia updates or plugins….. not sure if I believe them?)
PS..latest version of wordpress (4.3.1) is on booth sites and problem occurred before upgrading (at Godaddys behest)
PPS..Godaddy changed the theme and ‘halted?’ plugins to see if this made a difference..it did not
Anyhoo…..they say the only thing I can do is replace the core files and then run some kind of malware tool and that might do it, though its only 50-50 chance….
I thought I would come to the expert to see what he thinks!

PPS..I have also notices that unlike all my other sites (mostly using the Elite theme) www.(whatever) gets you there…..but with these two sites…www.purplerobert.com and http://www.streetpoets.club do not get you there…you simple have to leave off the www and just type in purplerobert.com for the site to load…
YES..THE SITES LOAD ( forgot to tell you that) but I just can’t get in to edit…..
December 17, 2015 at 11:36 #34519Victor Robert FarrellParticipantALSO!! from purplerobert.com/wp-login.php when I select a password change ( try anything!) It send me a link

December 17, 2015 at 12:21 #34523Bill RobbinsModeratorHey Robert,
That’s a new one (a group of items) for me. I’m going to start with the last screenshot for the password reset. WooCommerce hijacks some WordPress elements like the password reset on sites where it is active. That page looks like what you might find if the my account page/shortcode wasn’t working properly. Normally it would give you a login form within the content of that page with a reset password option.
A DNS setting can make a site reachable only from the www or no-www version. I’m not sure if that’s related to the present problems or not. The first time I set up the site for my church years ago I unintentionally made it so you had to use www; without it you got nothing.
If GoDaddy has a possible solution, I would start with that. If it isn’t a malware issue, it wouldn’t likely hurt anything. If it is malware and their tool doesn’t fix the trouble, there are some services like Succuri.net that can help get things fixed again for you.
Let me know what comes up after that.
Take care,

Secure net are saying 199 for one site! ( or $1,699.90 for 10 🙂
December 17, 2015 at 13:09 #34527Bill RobbinsModeratorReplacing the core files isn’t too bad. Go to https://wordpress.org/download/ and download WordPress 4.4. Unzip the file you download and open up the folder. Delete the wp-content folder out of the download.
Next use a FTP program to open up the files on your server. Upload the files and folders from the download you just received and replace the ones on your server with these. Once that finishes, you will have replaced the WordPress core files for your malware scan.
Sucuri is pricy, but malware removal is rather labor intensive. That’s why it can cost so much.
